Morency's Meyer Mistake

The results are in, and the voters have spoken: Rick Meyer belongs on the Supreme Court about as much as Lew Sanders belongs outside of prison. Meyer was soundly rejected at the polls last Tuesday, but believe it or not, he wasn't the day's biggest loser. That honor goes to Joyce Morency, who staked her credibility on Meyer being a contender in a race that ended in Essex County's hometown boy getting blown out of the water.

Joyce promoted Meyer's candidacy aggressively ahead of September's nominating convention. She probably wouldn't have been as successful in getting Meyer on the ballot had she told the delegates that Meyer had no real fundraising plan and would be outspent 4-t0-1 by his Democrat opponents. Those in attendance reported being collectively underwhelmed at Meyer's forty-five months on the bench, but the fix was in, and at Joyce's behest, Republicans in eleven counties got strapped with a bonafide loser on ticket.

Don't even get us started about her support for Dede Scozzafava.
